Bluebirds Badminton Club has been going for as long as any current members can remember (back to the 1960s at least). We play with traditional feather shuttles (currently Yonex AS50). We have various teams that play in the Hertford Area Badminton League. Our home venue is Mark Hall Sports Centre (see below).

The Winter Club runs 7:30pm-10:00pm on most Mondays (not Bank Holidays) at Mark Hall Sports Centre (see details below). We will have 5 courts. When we have a home match 2/3 courts will be used for the match.

The 2007/8 Winter Club will run from 3rd Sep 2007 until 19th May 2008 with adult fees of £90 (£45 for juniors) and this will include Badminton England and County Fees. Individual membership of Mark Hall Sports Centre is not currently required to attend Bluebirds Badminton.

Guests

Anyone wishing to "guest" should contact the committee so they can coordinate guest attendance at club nights. The general situation is that someone can guest a few times (the guest fee is £5 per night (£2.50 for juniors)) at which time they will be asked to make a formal application to join Bluebirds; the Committee will then review the application at the earliest opportunity and get back to the applicant. There are various situations that might arise at that time e.g. an immediate offer to join, being put on a waiting list, an invitation to attend a few more club nights as a guest or a suggestion to get some more experience (we have sister clubs we can recommend that are excellent for this). Guests cannot play in league teams.

We will be running a Summer Club starting on Monday 2nd June 2008 until Monday 25th Aug 2008 (costing £4 a night - pay on the night). This will be at the Mark Hall Sports Centre 7:30pm-10pm. Guests welcome.

Monday 25th Aug 2008 is a bank holiday (so no clubnight).
